60th Anniversary Celebration -- 1953 to 2013

President Marilyn Anderson and the Rotary Club of Chittenango cordially invite you to join us as we celebrate 60 years of Service before Self on Saturday evening, June 15 at the Whitetail Restaurant.

Cocktail hour begins at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 7:00, and program at 8:00. Our special guest speaker is Rotary District 7150 Governor Lou Steppello.

Congratulations to our winners! And a big thanks to everyone who participated at our first annual turkey shoot fundraiser.

The name of the winning team -- Boy Scout Troop 11 - Moonatees -- will be engraved on the Rotary's award plaque. This team now holds bragging rights until the next competition. Great job!

Lobster Fest Saturday May 11th

30th Annual Chittenango Rotary LOBSTER FEST will take place Saturday, May 11th, 2013 from 2pm until 6pm.

Location is at Jim Marshall Farms on New Boston Road in Chittenango.

Donation $30 advance sale tickets (see a Rotary member) or $35 at the door; $10 children's ticket excludes lobster. Come on out to this fundraising annual event benefitting community projects.

Menu includes 1 lb. live Maine lobster, steamship round of beef, salt potatoes, salads, hot dogs, hamburgs, sausage, peppers and onions, and draft beer or other beverages.  Door prizes include a grand prize of $200 but you must be present to win.

In an effort to reduce costs of developing multiple websites for our Rotary events, club president Marilyn Anderson has asked Rotarians to seek low cost alternatives. There are many options that involve various combinations of costs:

  • There's a design cost if someone is hired to layout the site attractively and logically, and that could involve fees for design updates later on as they're needed.
  • There's a web hosting fee (monthly or annual)  paid to a web host provider who provides space for your files, and
  • There's an annual fee to maintain your domain name registry.

We are trying out a free web hosting service that is offered to non-profits. There is no design cost because the site includes design tools and templates that let us select themes, colors, fonts, and add pictures.  There is no web hosting fee because we will agree to tolerate the advertising that will show up on our webpages. Let's see how that goes! There is no domain name registration fees because we are agreeing to use their domain name. That means our web address will be instead of

Our first order of business is getting info up for the Turkey Shoot. That's our priority for now.

There may be some bumpy blurbs and typos along the way. Let's work together to make our new web presence a success!

As the site creator, I welcome your ideas and input. We can share editing access, but I'm still learning how to make that happen. Let me know what you need.
